Baked Cheese Pasta :D
Ingredients
250g “Divella” Rigatoni / Farfalle / Penne
For the streusel thyme:
3 spoons (soup spoon) of butter
150g breadcrumbs (¾ cup)
1 spoon (soup spoon) of thyme leaves
Salt to taste
For the sauce:
3 spoons (soup spoon) of butter
1 ½ tbsp Flour
300ml milk (1 ½ cup)
350ml whipping cream (1 ½ cup)
1 Pinch of Nutmeg
Salt and freshly grounded pepper
50g grated cheddar cheese
50g grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation
Heat a pot with 4 liters of water. When the water boils, add 1 ½ tbsp of salt and bring to a boil again before putting the pasta to cook. Cook the pasta, drain it and set aside.
In a frying pan melt the butter & add breadcrumbs, stirring until crisp and golden. Add the thyme and salt to taste. Your “streusel thyme” is ready.
In a saucepan, melt the butter, add the flour and whisk until light and creamy. Remove from heat and keep stirring constantly, add milk mixed with cream. Return pan to heat, stirring constantly. Cook until boiling & thickened.
Season the sauce with nutmeg, salt & black pepper. Your sauce for pasta is ready.
Pour the sauce over pasta, add cheddar cheese & mix gently.
Now place the pasta in a baking dish greased with “streusel thyme” & butter. Bake in preheated moderate oven (170 º C). Bake until golden, remove from oven & garnish with parmesan cheese :D Bon appetite :D
